Floors and more, we’ll get you laid right.

New carpet, luxury vinyl plank, tile, hardwood or laminate — measured on site, priced in writing and installed with care in homes across Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch and Venice.

Flooring options

Home flooring we install

Carpet & pad

Bedrooms, stairs, bonus rooms or whole-house carpet replacement. New pad and stretch-in installation for a tight, smooth, long-lasting fit.

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP / LVT)

Waterproof, scratch-resistant and comfortable — a favorite for Florida living areas, kitchens and rentals. Read the LVP guide.

Porcelain & ceramic tile

Classic, cool and durable — from bathrooms and laundry rooms to large-format porcelain through the main living space.

Hardwood & engineered wood

Real wood warmth. Engineered wood is often the better fit over Florida slabs and in humid climates.

Laminate

A budget-friendly wood look with a tough wear surface for bedrooms, offices and low-moisture areas.

Removal & prep

Old carpet, vinyl or flooring removed and hauled away, with subfloor prep so the new floor goes down flat and lasts.

    FAQ

    Residential flooring FAQ

What is the best flooring for a Florida home?

It depends on the room. Luxury vinyl plank and porcelain tile handle humidity, sand, pets and pool traffic well, which is why they’re popular in main living areas, kitchens and baths. Carpet remains a comfortable, quiet choice for bedrooms. Hardwood and engineered wood bring warmth where moisture is controlled. Joshua Scott Homes’ LVP flooring guide goes deeper on luxury vinyl.

Should I choose carpet or LVP for bedrooms?

Carpet is warmer, softer and quieter underfoot; LVP is easier to clean and better for allergies, pets and spills. Many Sarasota homeowners put LVP in living areas and keep carpet in bedrooms — we can quote both.

Can new flooring go over my existing tile?

Often, yes — many LVP products can be installed over existing tile if it’s flat, solid and well bonded, which can save demolition cost. We check flatness and condition during the on-site measure before recommending it.

Do you remove the old flooring?

Yes. Removal and disposal of existing carpet, vinyl or other flooring, plus any subfloor prep, can be included in your estimate.

How much does new flooring cost?

Cost depends on the material, square footage, layout, stairs and how much prep the subfloor needs. We measure on site and provide a written estimate, so you know the price before anything is scheduled.

Can you install flooring as part of a bigger remodel?

Yes. Sarasota Commercial Flooring is operated by Joshua Scott Homes, which also handles kitchen and bathroom remodeling and custom finish carpentry such as baseboards and trim.
